Workshop exhibitions
Water l'Eau - Travelling exhibition
An exhibition in French and in Dutch.
Water l’Eau, a new itinerant exhibition tours the 19 Brussels municipalities in 2006 and 2007. A mobile workshop was set up with the support of the Brussels Capital Region (Brussels Institute for Management of the Environment), to introduce children to nature in the city.
This workshop is all about water. It tells the history – and even the prehistory – of the water supply in a growing city. It shows how this precious liquid is collected, transported, stocked and treated, before it runs out of the tap. And it is also vital to our industry.
But the ‘wild’ water has never left the urban areas! We explore Brussels’ semi-natural wetlands, a prodigious wealth that needs protection. All five (!) valleys of the capital are illustrated through a habitat: a river, a marsh, a reedbed, a pool, a canal…
Last but not least, children can test their knowledge about plants, invertebrates, fish and waterfowl. They can use a plant book, binoculars, specimens and can even take a fun book home!
Water l’Eau is an exposition-workshop for children’s groups, guided by a guide of our museum.
