One of the Museum's main goals is to get children and young persons enthusiastic about sciences. The company Solvay is equally concerned about this as fewer young persons choose scientific subjects, which makes it harder to fill certain vacancies for scientific positions. In order to do something about this, the Museum and Solvay joined hands and founded the Foundation Enterprise-Institute. XperiLAB is the first result of this collaboration.
XperiLAB is a science truck filled with surprising chemistry, biology, physics and technology experiments. In the years to come, the truck will cross Belgium: it will be stationed in another province every week. Pupils between the age of 10 and 14 from local schools can come round to discover the fascinating and original experiments: making your own toothpaste, examining fibers under the microscope, carrying out a chromatography, and many more...
